About This Site
Flora of Laurel Park documents the native and invasive plants of Laurel Park, North Carolina, with practical guidance on identifying and managing the invasives.
It is written and maintained by John McGregor, a Laurel Park resident whose doctoral research focused on crop/weed interference and weed ecology, followed by some forty years in weed management research spanning conventional, biological, and natural product methods. He serves on the Native Plant Stewardship Committee of Laurel Park, NC.
Identification follows the Flora of the Southeastern United States, and management information draws on North Carolina Cooperative Extension, the North Carolina Invasive Plant Council, and other state and federal agency sources, linked where used.
This is a personal site rather than an official position of the Town or any of its boards, no specific product is recommended, and anyone using a pesticide is responsible for following the product label.
